HEAT ILLNESS PREVENTION

We are currently experiencing a heat wave and seeing temperatures of 100 degrees and over. We will continue to see these temperatures through next week. Overall, it’s going to be a hot summer and during this time the heat puts a lot of added stress on our field crews as well as production loss. Some projects are working indoors with very little ventilation and others are outdoors fighting the heat and sun. We have a few jobs that have already started using fans indoors making a big difference just moving air for the crews. Some outdoor projects are already utilizing hard hat attachments to help keep the sun off them making a huge difference. Just keeping the sun off your skin helps.

Please take some time to review the heat illness prevention plan. Be safe and stay hydrated.

NEW GLOVE AND STRETCH & FLEX POLICIES

Each year, our company deals with numerous hand injuries that are time-consuming, expensive, and also preventable with the proper use of hand protection. Additionally, research demonstrates that most reoccurring and disabling injuries in the construction industry are soft tissue injuries. To alleviate this trend we will be adding stretching to our morning routine, which many of you are already doing. Please review the new policies with the link below.
