CSUF - Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) Innovation Hub

The CSUF Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) Innovation Hub represents a major investment in the future of innovation, collaboration, and hands-on learning at California State University, Fullerton. This new three-story, 45,000-square-foot facility expands the university’s engineering complex and is designed to support the next generation of engineers, computer scientists, and technology leaders in Southern California.

The building will serve as a dynamic learning environment featuring advanced computer workrooms, biological and chemical procedure labs, student lounges, meeting rooms, and a multi-purpose collaboration space. Designed to encourage innovation and interdisciplinary learning, the ECS Innovation Hub will provide students with modern spaces to research, create, collaborate, and solve real-world challenges while helping position Orange County as a growing center for technology and engineering advancement.

AJK is delivering the comprehensive electrical infrastructure that powers the facility’s operations, technology, and student experience. AJK’s scope includes the complete electrical and power distribution systems, lighting design and installation utilizing a Lutron lighting control system, and extensive low-voltage systems including DAS, audio-visual systems, two-way communication, assistive listening systems, public announcement systems, and synchronized clock systems. The project also incorporates energy-efficient upgrades through rooftop solar panel integration.

In addition, AJK is coordinating subcontracted fire alarm systems and low-voltage infrastructure to support the building’s safety, connectivity, and communication needs. From core power systems to advanced technology integration, AJK’s work is helping create a modern educational environment built to support innovation, connectivity, and the evolving needs of future students and industry partners.
