10 West Walnut

The 10 West Walnut project in Old Town Pasadena is a new and extensive mixed-use development and is Pasadena's first office development in 30 years. It spans over approximately 7 acres and comprises of five, 5-story residential buildings, a 5-story commercial office building, and a 460,000-square-foot, 3-level subterranean parking garage with 1,123 spaces. The residential buildings provide 397 luxury apartment units in various configurations, with over 14,000 square feet of retail and restaurant spaces. Resident amenities include a clubroom, business center, theater, fitness center, and outdoor spaces.

AJK installed power and lighting throughout all the buildings for this project including 2 generators on the rooftop (300kVA and 150 kVA) of the office building. Copper bus duct was installed at approximately 300 yards worth. AJK installed all the fixture lighting (downlights, sconces, LED tape, step lights, pendants, exits). The residential building and site lighting used nLight lighting controls. The parking garage and office used Wattstopper light controls.

AJK also installed the fire alarm system, voice/data, DAS, access control, CCTV, area of refuge, and AV system.

9% of the project was prefabricated in-house including unit panels, corridor can lights, deck whips, deck boxes, deck PVC stubs, slab on grade stubs, disconnect racks for office building rooftop, racks on the garage for MC feeders/low voltage conduits, and large conduit bends.
