CalTrans Maintenance Training Center
After more than two decades in planning, Caltrans is bringing to life a state-of-the-art Maintenance Equipment Training Center in the southern region to serve multiple districts across Los Angeles. Strategically located near LAX, this 9,400-square-foot facility will become the cornerstone for advancing workforce development, safety, and operational excellence within CalTrans maintenance teams.
The center will offer comprehensive training programs, including defensive driving, equipment operations, and advanced technical skills, ensuring crews are prepared for the complex demands of maintaining California’s transportation infrastructure. Designed with innovation in mind, the facility will feature a large classroom, computer lab, simulator rooms, and dedicated office spaces, creating an immersive environment that blends hands-on learning with cutting-edge technology.
