This new three-story, 45,000-square-foot facility expands the university’s engineering complex and is designed to support the next generation of engineers, computer scientists, and technology leaders in Southern California. The building will serve as a dynamic learning environment featuring advanced computer workrooms, biological and chemical procedure labs, student lounges, meeting rooms, and a multi-purpose collaboration space. Designed to encourage innovation and interdisciplinary learning, the ECS Innovation Hub will provide students with modern spaces to research, create, collaborate, and solve real-world challenges while helping position Orange County as a growing center for technology and engineering advancement. AJK is delivering the comprehensive electrical infrastructure that powers the facility’s operations, technology, and student experience. AJK’s scope includes the complete electrical and power distribution systems, lighting design and installation utilizing a Lutron lighting control system, and extensive low-voltage systems including DAS, audio-visual systems, two-way communication, assistive listening systems, public announcement systems, and synchronized clock systems. The project also incorporates energy-efficient upgrades through rooftop solar panel integration. In addition, AJK is coordinating subcontracted fire alarm systems and low-voltage infrastructure to support the building’s safety, connectivity, and communication needs. Drew University HPEB is a new, four-story, 60,000-square-foot facility designed to house the university's medical education program and offer interdisciplinary programming for all three CDU colleges.  < Back Charles Drew University - HPEB The Health Professions Education Building (HPEB) at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science is a new, four-story, 60,000-square-foot facility designed to house the university's medical education program and offer interdisciplinary programming for all three CDU colleges. The new building will support the University’s mission to cultivate health professional leaders dedicated to social justice and universal access to quality health care. Once completed, the 100,000 gross square feet facility will feature classroom space, anatomy laboratories, and collaborative spaces to support CDU’s more than 240 medical students. AJK was responsible the installation of all power and electrical systems, and covering both the design and installation of Lutron lighting. Additionally, AJK established the infrastructure for specialized systems, including the fire alarm system, Emergency Radio Responder Communication System (ERRCS)/DAS, voice data, and access control.
