This expansion serves to greatly enhance access to OCMA's permanent collection, which features significant works of modern and contemporary art from Southern California and the Pacific Rim, in addition to their renowned special exhibition program. The MonteCedro Phase II project in Altadena marks the final phase of a thoughtfully designed master plan by Episcopal Communities & Services. < Back MonteCedro Phase II The MonteCedro Phase II project in Altadena marks the final phase of a thoughtfully designed master plan by Episcopal Communities & Services. This significant expansion brings four new villa-style residential buildings to the existing senior living campus, adding 40 independent living apartments to meet increasing demand. Designed with comfort and community in mind, the two- and three-story structures are arranged around a central event lawn and enhanced by vibrant outdoor features including a putting green, casual gathering areas, a pet park, and resident gardens. Two of the villa buildings sit atop a below-grade parking garage podium, which also houses a fully accessible auditorium at the southern end of the property, offering a flexible space for events and programs that serve the entire campus. The development also introduces a new terrace restaurant and completes approximately 10,000 square feet of interior renovations to Phase 1, updating key public and amenity spaces on the ground floor to align with the evolving needs of residents. All four new buildings will be licensed as Retirement Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE), and each condo is designed to support residents in aging in place, with services they can access as their needs change over time. AJK is providing comprehensive electrical systems for the project, including power and lighting, fire alarm, CCTV, security, voice/data, distributed antenna systems (DAS), 2-way communication, nurse call system, and audiovisual components—ensuring the safety, connectivity, and functionality that support modern senior living.
